iPhone users previously needed Exchange Server in order to get over-the-air access to their Outlook email. Softalk's Share Server product changes that.

Up until now, over-the-air access to Outlook email for iPhone users has required either an Exchange Server or a MobileMe account.
Collaboration software specialists, Softalk, today announced that their Exchange alternative product, Softalk Share Server, will provide over-the-air access to the email folders in Outlook for iPhones or any device supporting the IMAP protocol.
Softalk joint-CEO Stuart Prestedge said: "The iPhone's popularity is really growing as a business tool, particularly for small to medium sized companies and access to company e-mail while away from the office is essential for most organizations. This new feature provides that capability and is great for those companies that don't want the burden of Microsoft's Exchange Server."
